About

Debi grebenik

Born in Kansas City to a teen mom, I grew up always trying hard to excel and be good enough and so I would make my parents proud because of all they sacrificed to parent me as teens. I acquired multiple degrees, worked hard, and eventually met my husband at seminary.

With three grown children, two daughter-in-laws, one son-in-law and eight grandchildren, my life is full and blessed. My husband was in ministry until he retired several years ago. I served with him as we entertained in our home, prayed with, and loved on people during joyful and stressful times.

My career spans thirty-plus years and includes a variety of positions that included direct services with children and families in residential treatment settings and home-based services also. I love change and novelty so pursued multiple opportunities. I engaged in leadership positions as my experience grew. Without the skills and understanding of effective leadership, I made so many mistakes (and I still make them). One of my fun adventures was teaching graduate school classes over the span of 22 years. I am in contact with many of my previous students and love how they are stepping into leadership.

A few pivots in my career allowed me to grow and challenge my long-held beliefs. As I leaned into my own vulnerability, I began to learn a few lessons. I know that I am ‘in the zone’ when I am teaching others and guiding them to experience an ‘aha’ moment or to connect seemingly unrelated dots to create a picture of understanding. I love working with and developing others in their leadership journey. I also love building connections with others and seeing them step into their best self. I am probably best known for my non-stop energy, my love of the color pink, and my daily visits to Starbucks.
